At Ernest Charles we sell an extensive range of products for garden wildlife based around our renowned bird foods and bird seed blends. Our business has its origins in 1844 when an Exeter chemist, Isaac Lang began selling medicinal seed alongside traditional medicines. From this developed an unrivalled expertise in the sourcing, cleaning and blending of seeds.

Now the Ernest Charles name is associated particularly with wild bird care. Our business is very different now from when it started. General awareness about conservation and valuable research, carried out by organisations like the BTO, mean we are all better informed about the
nutritional requirements and welfare of our garden birds and wildlife.

Our commitment to providing a high quality product range and an exceptionally high standard of customer service, however, remains unchanged.

As well as liaising closely with leading ornithological and scientific bodies, such as the British Trust for Ornithology, we work in partnership throughout the UK with wildlife associations.
